The results of French clubs in the European Cup could be catastrophic this week. This is the scenario that Daniel Riolo imagines.

None of the French clubs involved in the European Cup this week won in Ligue 1 last weekend. Starting with Paris Saint-Germain, who lost (2-3) at the Parc des Princes against OGC Nice. Olympique de Marseille delivered an insipid performance at the Stade Vélodrome against Toulouse, just like Rennes against Lille, while Lens lost (0-1) at home against Metz.

Obviously, all these results do not bode well on the European level. “Marseille, Lens, Rennes… the clubs from which you expected more. It’s a problem that very often impacts our results in the European Cup. These are not the same reasons, nor the same contexts, but there is one thing in common: change. All our clubs suffer from this evil”underlined Daniel Riolo, Monday evening, in the show “L’After Foot” on RMC.

The sports journalist is already expecting a “black Thursday”. “We have a somewhat homogenous championship which got off to a really bad start. Technically, it’s not good, tactically a lot of teams are looking for each other. As we arrive at this week of the European Cup, there is reason to be worried, I don’t even want to talk about Thursday evening (in the Europa League) because it can be terrible. imagine Gilbert Brisbois’ sidekick. In the Europa League, Rennes will host Maccabi Haifa on Thursday while Marseille and Toulouse will travel to Ajax and Union Saint-Gilloise respectively.
