The 5th day of La Liga continued this Sunday evening with a bottom-of-the-table confrontation before the meeting between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad. Sevilla FC hosted Las Palmas at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium. After a completely failed start to the season with three defeats in as many matches, José Luis Mendilibar’s players had to recover before returning to RC Lens for the first match of the group stage of the Champions League in the middle of next week.

Despite this very important challenge, the Sevillians were unable to find the fault in the first period. If the ball remained in the feet of teammates Jesus Navas and Sergio Ramos, both teams created a real chance each before the break. Finally, the match turned in favor of the locals after an achievement by Dodi Lukébakio at the dawn of the last quarter of an hour of this meeting (1-0, 71st).
