Arriving this summer from Manchester United, André Onana has had a rather difficult start. Not always impeccable with the goals conceded by his team, like the defeat of the Red Devils against Tottenham on August 19 (2-0), the Cameroonian international has so far often distinguished himself for his past soaps his defense. But according to Jamie Carragher, it’s a bit too much.
On his Twitter account, the former Liverpool defender pointed out the behavior of the former Inter Milan goalkeeper, also indicating that his demonstrative reprimands towards Harry Maguire were unnecessary given the period that ‘he crosses : “I know he’s demonstrative in matches, but yelling at the club captain in a pre-season match when you’ve been at the club for two minutes was way over the top. Any player worth his salt (Keane, Vidic, Rio, Stam… and me) would have told him to go back to his goal. I felt like he was trying way too hard to show the fans what he was doing.”
