The international break is now over, time for the resumption of the Premier League on FM! This Saturday, Manchester United welcomes Brighton to its Old Trafford den for the 5th day of the English championship. Authors of a disappointing start to the season on an accounting and sporting level (11th, 6pts), the Red Devils will be keen to put on a good show in front of their public and thus gain confidence in the face of a team in great form. And for good reason, thanks to its three successes acquired during the first four outings on the national scene, Brighton started their Premier League campaign very well (6th, 9pts). Like an exceptional last season, finishing in sixth place, the Seagulls are determined to play spoilsport again this year in the Kingdom. This part will be followed live with live commentary on the French Football Weekly website from 4 p.m.
For this fifth outing in the Premier League, Erik Ten Hag decided to opt for his preferred tactical scheme organized in 4-2-3-1. In the absence of Raphaël Varane, still injured, Victor Lindelof continues a new tenure in central hinge alongside Lisandro Martinez. The midfield is made up of Scott McTominay and Casemiro, while Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford start on the attacking front. Finally, the point of the attack will be occupied by Rasmus Højlund. On the visitors’ side, Roberto De Zerbi renews his traditional 4-2-3-1. Tariq Lamptey, Lewis Dunk, Jan Paul Van Hecke, Joel Veltman make up the rearguard, behind the sentry pair Mahmoud Dahoud and Pascal Grob. Performing well this season, Kaoru Mitoma is logically aligned on the left of the attack while Danny Welbeck starts up front.
