The summer transfer window closed its doors a little over ten days ago but left its mark on some. Hugo Ekitike ultimately did not leave PSG to the great dismay of his club who wanted to get rid of him. The management would have sent him to Eintracht Frankfurt as part of the transfer of Randal Kolo Muani to the capital club but there is no question for him to give up on 40% of the emoluments he receives in France. He preferred England where West Ham and Crystal Palace were interested. This time the problem was with the offers. The Eagles only offered a paying loan of €3 million, accompanied by a purchase option of €35 million which could be exercised if the striker reached 20 matches. PSG demanded a dry transfer to remain within the framework of financial fair play.

This affair considerably cooled relations between the player and the French champion. The former Rémois is not expected to play again anytime soon, having not even been called up for the last Ligue 1 match. He has also not been included on the list of players able to participate in the Champions League. He will have to be patient and take refuge in training while waiting for the winter transfer window to open. He will have an exit voucher again and even better. According to The Team, PSG is ready to soften its position and will undoubtedly accept a paying loan with a compulsory purchase option if it comes from an English club. Good news for Ekitike who hopes to come out of the closet in January.
