OL management would have abandoned the track leading to Gattuso to concentrate on an old acquaintance.

Olympique Lyonnais continues to look for a coach to replace Laurent Blanc on the bench. The Rhone residents seemed to have set their sights on Gennaro Gattuso, but now another Italian coach is emerging as the main candidate for this position. This is Fabio Grosso.

Grosso, an option that appeals to everyone internally

Grosso is a veteran of the club. He played in Lyon between 2007 and 2009, leaving very good memories there. Both on a human level and on a sporting level. The solution of betting on him seems very interesting, especially since he is currently free.

Grosso had a successful start in the business. He particularly stood out on the bench of Frosinone (Serie B) last season. He then left on his own, hoping to quickly find a new base. With Lyon, it may therefore be served.

Time is running out for OL

The 2006 world champion also has the advantage of speaking French perfectly. On the other hand, we can imagine that he would want to come to Lyon with his full staff. Which could pose a problem for owner John Textor.

As a reminder, OL are currently last in the Ligue 1 standings, with only 1 point taken out of 12 possible. Blanc was fired from his post at the start of the week. The Anderson – Bréchet – Vulliez trio acts as interim coach while awaiting the appointment of a full-time coach.
