Snubbed by his coach at OM for three matches, Azzedine Ounahi shone with the Moroccan selection.
It was more than a friendly match that Morocco played this Tuesday evening in Lens. Winners of Burkina Faso (1-0), the Atlas Lions tried to bring some comfort to the hearts of all their people, bruised by the earthquake which devastated the country at the end of last week.
In these moments, personal cases become secondary. But for Azzedine Ounahi, the nice goal scored on a shift from Amine Adli does not lack importance.

The former Angers player is currently having a difficult start to the season. Scorer against Reims (2-1) on the first day of Ligue 1, Ounahi then remained on the bench during the following matches, without even coming into play once. In Nantes (1-1), Marcelino made only one change, while OM were held by the Canaries who were reduced to ten.
This nice goal from Ounahi, who played 85 minutes, is a nice message sent to his coach. Marcelino could well need the Moroccan during the next meetings, especially with the injury to Ismaïla Sarr. We also recall that the leaders of OM refused offers for their attacking midfielder at the end of the transfer window. And the plan was not to keep Ounahi and let him languish on the bench…
