Who says international truce means, for the Spanish media, a superb opportunity to take stock of the Kylian Mbappé file. Since the end of the summer transfer window, the Iberian publications had been rather wise in this regard, and had not mentioned the case of the Bondynois much. However, within a few months, Real Madrid will finally be able to negotiate with the player without needing PSG’s agreement.

Everything indicates that there will be no turnaround and that the principal concerned will not extend his lease with Paris Saint-Germain. The pro-Madrid media Defensa Central takes stock and explains that in the negotiations which should start in January, Florentino Pérez and Real Madrid will try to include a big clause in the French striker’s contract.

Florentino Pérez does not want to take any risks

The newspaper thus reveals that the Madrilenians want to include two release clauses in the player’s future contract. One for European clubs, which would be between 800 million euros and a billion euros. Enough to keep away competition from the English big names for example. Then, another release clause specially designed for Saudi clubs, which would well exceed a billion euros. The media thus mentions a possible clause of 1.2 billion euros. It remains to be seen how this could be done from a legal point of view.

But this desire to include a special anti-Saudi/Qatari clause clearly testifies to this paradigm shift in current football, and Florentino Pérez is fully aware of it, he who for example lost Karim Benzema this summer. The newspaper adds that big European clubs are considering signing similar contracts for their best players. To be continued…
