Former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has opened up about his decision to turn down joining Manchester United early in his career.

Bale has chosen to retire from football at the start of 2023, having fulfilled his ambition of playing in a World Cup, having led Wales to the 2022 World Cup, in his first appearance on the scene world since 1958.
