While facing initial criticism in the south of Italy, Frenchman Rudi Garcia has received support from a former Neapolitan coach.

After three days of Serie A, Naples already has a setback. A defeat conceded at home against Lazio and which earned Rudi Garcia, the new coach of this team, severe criticism in the transalpine press.

“Judge Garcia after a dozen matches”

Following the brilliant passage of Luciano Spalletti, we wonder if the restrictive style of the French technician really fits the identity of this club. Many observers point to a casting error on the part of Aurélio De Laurentiis.

An analysis that Ottavio Bianchi, a veteran of the house, does not share, however. In an interview with Il Mattino, the former Partenopei coach insisted on the need to give Garcia time. “The start of the season? For me, it’s positive. Then, the coach can give his indications based on the players he has, and this role is often overestimated. In the sense that coaches are like pilots.”

The Italian champion coach in 1987 also noted that Garcia does not benefit from the same squad as his predecessor given that Naples recorded some important departures during the summer. “Today, Ferrari is not performing well because there are no cars and not because there are no drivers. On the other hand, when there is a good car, even a good coach can express himself. That said, to have a more complete judgment, we must wait at least a dozen matches.”
