As Marco Verratti prepares to leave PSG in the next few hours, Daniel Riolo assures that he was right for a long time about the real level and the limits of the “little owl”.

In the next few hours, Marco Verratti will commit to Al-Arabi in Qatar. A transfer revolving around 50 million euros, bonus included. The Italian international, who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain from Pescara in the summer of 2012, was the darling of the Parc des Princes for a long time, before having a disappointing last season.

For several years, Daniel Riolo was very critical of the “little owl”, in particular about his lifestyle. Wednesday evening, the journalist wanted to settle accounts with some of his colleagues on the Verratti case. “It’s not me who’s stubborn, it’s them who didn’t want to open their eyes during all these years when I said: ‘look closely at what is happening, he is not strong as you say, you you’re wrong, you got your finger in the eye. There you go, it ends like this and it ends sadly”explained the sidekick of Gilbert Brisbois on RMC.

Daniel Riolo insists on the fact that his fellow journalists were misled about the real level of Verratti. “They were the ones who didn’t want to see, not me. Me, I was completely objective, lucid saying: ‘look at the performances and what he is capable of doing during the matches’. They were there fantasizing about this player, these performances, about someone who plays 50% of the matches, who is not professional, who does not have a healthy lifestyle. It is serious not to be professional and not to have a healthy lifestyle”hammers the companion of Géraldine Maillet.
