A former Liverpool manager believes he knows what Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah wants for the rest of his career.

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes Mohamed Salah wants to leave for Saudi Arabia. He is convinced of it, even if the Pharaoh continues to give his all in the jersey of the Reds. As evidenced by his goal against Aston Villa on Sunday in the league.

“Salah feels he has to go”

Last week, Al-Ittihad had their €180m bid for the Egyptian star turned down by Liverpool. However, the Saudis are expected to come back with an improved offer in the coming days. The transfer window in this country only ends on September 7.

“Make no mistake, Salah is flirting with the Saudis,” Souness wrote in his Daily Mail column. Neither he nor any of his representatives have said categorically, “We don’t want to go to Saudi Arabia at the moment.” If he wanted to stay, someone could have made a statement to that effect.

“He plays with the idea that he can move and I think deep down he feels he has to go”added the former Scottish manager about the African vice-champion.

A departure from Salah would be a big loss for LFC. With 188 goals, he is currently the club’s third-best goalscorer behind Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.
