On Saturday, El Mundo revealed that the Civil Guard concluded that the Technical Commission of Referees (CTA) was not “impartial” during Enriquez Negreira’s tenure as vice-president.

The investigation was carried out as part of the El Caso Negreira case, which concerns relations between FC Barcelona and the top manager of Iberian arbitration.

The Catalans paid the ex-vice-president for refereeing reports, which are legal, and categorically deny buying referees.

During the press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Osasuna, FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the report and responded to it very strongly, according to brand.

“I’ve said it many times before. In 17 years in the first team and now as a coach, I have never felt aggrieved. I completely disagree with the conclusion of the Civil Guard”.

The Negreira case has been pretty quiet for the past few months, and this is the first major development for many weeks. FC Barcelona continues to proclaim its innocence.
