Kolo Muani, the terrible anger

While his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain seemed to be at an impasse, Randal Kolo Muani did not hide his anger from Eintracht Frankfurt, who ended up giving in.

Randal Kolo Muani had one of the craziest days of his career on Friday. The Bondy native finally signed a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain, after long hours of waiting and uncertainty.

By midday, his transfer was on track, with the agreement reached between PSG and Frankfurt on the amount of the transfer. But there was a downside, because Eintracht had made it clear at that time that the “deal” was conditioned on the arrival in its ranks of a new attacker. At 6 p.m., at the close of the German transfer window, no one had signed, and that therefore seemed to condemn Kolo Muani to stay.

It was unthinkable for the former Nantes player, who had informed his club in early August of his desire to leave and join PSG, which Frankfurt had accepted. As things dragged on, Kolo Muani entered a form of strike action, skipping training this week to return to his Paris home, pending his transfer. In his mind, the French international no longer saw himself wearing the Frankfurt jersey, indicates L’Equipe, even early Friday evening when the case seemed to have stalled. “I don’t care, let him find a solution!” »would then have dropped the player, angry at his club, which did not keep its promise to grant him an exit voucher.

The solution was finally found. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi took matters into his own hands by calling Frankfurt leaders directly. He convinced them by explaining to them that it would be impossible for them to count on a Kolo Muani totally involved this season and that, since they had already “lost” him, they had to accept the enhanced offer from PSG. And this is how the Bondynois was entitled to his return to the fold.
