The service that offers free streaming of matches could very soon disappear.
It’s not the first time the announcement has been made, but this time it may well be that the AV pirates are permanently out of harm’s way. And for good reason ; their most famous brain has just been neutralized.
IPTV’s Brain Shut Down
According to information from the Moroccan press, a Dutchman by the name of Hicham O. was arrested by the police in his country. He was seeking to flee the Netherlands after a court handed down a prison sentence against him. For several years, he had been raging without being worried from his municipality of Almere and was in particular at the head of two companies: Globe Datacenter and Satellite Wholesale.
Hicham O. is the owner of the largest IPTV service in Europe. Many sellers are among his clients and there is no doubt that his arrest is a blow to the entire sector.
On the other hand, it is not to displease broadcasters and channels who pay large sums to be able to broadcast sporting events and other exclusive creations. For several years, IPTV has become their main enemy and the various measures taken to eradicate this scourge by Arcom have all been doomed to failure.
In France, and faced with the exponential rise in subscription prices and also the proliferation of broadcasters for the various football competitions, decoders offering the IPTV service have been invited into millions of homes and for ridiculous prices in the face of which they is impossible to compete (sometimes at only 20 euros per year).
