Olympique de Marseille announced on Thursday the departure of an element that has become undesirable over the years.
It’s not a surprise, but it’s official since Thursday: Jordan Amavi is no longer an Olympique de Marseille player. The Marseille club has announced the departure of its defender. The French international (he had been called up by Didier Deschamps in 2017) was loaned to Stade Brestois, with no option to buy. He had already been loaned last season to Getafe, without much success.
After having been an important element of the Marseille club, Jordan Amavi has lost his starting status over the years, to the point of entering the caste of players who have become undesirable. From the height of his 29 years, Amavi hopes to relaunch his career in a family club where he should have playing time corresponding to his expectations.
