The champions of France, placed in hat 1, will know their opponents in the group stage this Thursday at the end of the day.

Six months after the new disappointment experienced against Bayern Munich in the round of 16, PSG are preparing to return to the campaign in the Champions League. And the first big meeting of this new European season will be held this Thursday at 6 p.m. on the occasion of the draw for the group stage. A draw that the Parisians will approach with the advantage of emerging in hat 1 thanks to their title of champion won last spring.

However, the capital club is not immune to a complicated draw. First of all, it will be difficult to escape a cador from hat 2, where Inter Milan, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal or Atletico Madrid. But the toughest opponent would undoubtedly be Real Madrid and not only because of the liabilities between the two clubs.

Hat 3 also includes several perilous opponents, the first of which is AC Milan. In its wake, Lazio Rome, runner-up to Napoli last season, would also be a rival of choice but suffers from a lack of references on the most prestigious of European stages. As for hat 4, the scarecrow is named Newcastle, Premier League’s new rich. If the Magpies took advantage of the decline of Chelsea and Liverpool to make their return to C1, they are clearly among the new English leaders.

Despite its presence in hat 1, PSG can therefore inherit a group made up of Real Madrid, AC Milan and Newcastle which would have everything from a group of death, with the key to two big names on the floor.
