Gonçalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembélé, Kang-In Lee, Marco Asensio… PSG recruited with a vengeance to renew their attack and quickly forget the MNM era. The new coach Luis Enrique now has more options than his predecessor Christophe Galtier, almost helpless as soon as he missed Neymar, Messi or Mbappé. Long the poor relation of the Parisian attack, the right flank has been considerably strengthened with the presence of Dembélé and Asensio in particular. This did not prevent Luis Campos from working for several weeks on the Bradley Barcola case.

The 20-year-old lit up the second half of the 2022-2023 season for Olympique Lyonnais, and attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Able to play both on the right and on the left, the player trained in Lyon looks very much like a bet on the future. A bet that PSG is ready to take, since, according to our information, it has agreed with the Rhone club to recruit its nugget. Indeed, after making an initial offer of €45m, the Rouge et Bleu managed to find common ground with Les Gones. The player had already announced his departure to his coach on Wednesday morning.

OL lose another nugget

As soon as PSG showed interest, Barcola quickly decided. He wanted to join the reigning French champion. He had also recently changed agents, his career now being managed by Jorge Mendes, whose privileged relationship with Luis Campos is known. For OL, it’s a nice cash inflow, but also heartbreaking. After announcing that they wanted to keep their best young players, Lukeba and Barcola, these two finally left the ship.

OL supporters are torn between two feelings: the frustration of seeing a promising element leave the club so quickly and the satisfaction of recovering a good sum for a player ultimately little concerned by the Lyon project. At PSG, Barcola will have to jostle to find a place in the plethoric workforce led by Luis Enrique. He showed a certain character in wanting to give a boost to his career, it will be useful for him to shine at PSG, a club where he signed for five years.
