After a particularly anticipated first list last September, Zinédine Zidane continues his adventure at the head of the France team. This Friday, the French coach unveiled his second selection since taking office, with a view to the next two Nations League matches. The Blues will first travel to Italy on November 12, before hosting Turkey on November 15. Two important meetings to validate their qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition.
For this new gathering, the former Real Madrid coach must nevertheless deal with several significant absences. William Saliba (Arsenal), Jules Koundé (FC Barcelona), Maxence Lacroix (Chelsea), Manu Koné (AS Roma), Ousmane Dembélé (PSG) and Estéban Lepaul (Rennes) are all unavailable due to injuries. Added to these packages is that of Dayot Upamecano, who will be suspended for the trip to Milan against Italy.
The huge surprise Pablo Pagis
Zinédine Zidane’s list has some surprises in store. If several executives are present, like Kylian Mbappé, Mike Maignan, Aurélien Tchouameni or Dayot Upamecano, the coach has also decided to trust a new profile. Pablo Pagis notably makes his appearance among the attackers for the first time, while Aurélien Tchouameni makes his return to the Blues list. Andy Diouf, Jérémy Jacquet and Lucas Da Cunha are also present, like Malo Gusto in place of Jules Koundé, who is still injured.
In the offensive sector, the Blues will also be able to count on Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, Michael Olise, Kylian Mbappé and the return of Marcus Thuram. In the middle, Eduardo Camavinga, Rayan Cherki, Adrien Rabiot, Aurélien Tchouameni and Warren Zaire-Emery are called up. A selection of 23 players which will allow Zinédine Zidane’s men to continue their journey in the Nations League and validate their ticket for the quarter-finals. As a reminder, a draw would allow the Blues to reach the final phase.
