A few hours before the Clasico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, scheduled for this Sunday at the Camp Nou, Enrique Riquelme will be present in the stands to support the Madrid club. The former Merengue presidential candidate, who received 35% of the vote in last June’s elections, will attend the meeting with friends. A presence which contrasts with that of Florentino Pérez, absent from the trip and represented in the official forum by his vice-president Eduardo Fernández de Blas and José Martínez.
According to Mundo Deportivothe president of Real Madrid has no longer visited the official stand at the Barcelona stadium since the breakdown in relations between the two clubs, which occurred after Barça’s withdrawal from the Super League project. Last season, Pirri had already represented Madrid management during the Clasico in Catalonia. Enrique Riquelme had attended the derby against Atlético de Madrid at the Metropolitano stadium, but in the official stand this time, a presence which would have greatly displeased Florentino Pérez.
