Udinese could well rely on a well-known face of Italian football to emerge from the crisis. As Kosta Runjaic approaches the exit after the heavy defeat against AS Roma (2-5), the name of Vladimir Petkovic appeared in the reflections of the Friulian leaders. A rather unexpected path to succeed the German technician, whose future now seems very compromised. The urgency is real in Udine, currently 19th in Serie A with only 5 points after ten days. Management would not like to wait for the international break to decide, especially as the Bianconeri will return to Venezia on Friday November 6.

Free since his departure from the Algerian selection last August, Petkovic could thus return to a championship that he knows perfectly. The Bosnian technician led Lazio from 2012 to 2014, notably winning the Italian Cup in 2013 against AS Roma. He then built solid international experience at the head of Switzerland, which he led to the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 after eliminating the France team on penalties. His profile is now one of the options studied by Udinese, even if Paolo Zanetti also remains in the consideration. Roberto D’Aversa is stepping back in discussions, while Davide Ballardini has also been proposed. The next few hours could allow us to see more clearly the identity of the future Friulian coach.
