Bayern Munich met Borussia Dortmund this Saturday for the 129th Klassiker, in a special context where the man of the evening was obviously Harry Kane. Crowned Ballon d’Or 2026, the Bavarian striker was warmly celebrated by the supporters of the Allianz Arena before the kick-off of a crucial match to maintain the lead in the standings. The Bavarians, however, had to deal with the absence of their coach Vincent Kompany, still recovering from viral meningitis. On the pitch, Bayern’s men quickly took control and Olise found the post (10th). Dortmund then responded, but Urbig stood out in front of Jobe Bellingham (21st).

The match got heated from the half-hour mark. After a Bellingham goal was refused by the VAR for a huge contact between Urbig and Chukwuemeka, Bayern opened the scoring thanks to Konrad Laimer in the process. Well launched by Olise, the Austrian first stumbled on Kobel before taking advantage of the pushed ball to score in the empty goal (1-0, 38th). The Bavarians then had to face two hard blows with the injuries of Saibari and Gnabry, forced to give up their place before the break. After returning from the locker room, Bayern increased the pressure and created several chances, notably through Laimer and Olise.

Harry Kane was unlucky, worry for Michael Olise

Harry Kane then had the opportunity to make the break from the penalty spot, after a handball from Nmecha in the area, but the Ballon d’Or sent his attempt onto Kobel’s crossbar (1-1, 56th). A missed opportunity that Dortmund immediately exploited: following a recovery from Chukwuemeka, Serhou Guirassy took his cross at the near post to equalize (60th). But it didn’t take long for Bayern to regain the advantage. On a corner perfectly executed by Kimmich, Kane headed the ball in front of the goal and Dayot Upamecano appeared to push the ball into the back of the net (2-1, 66th). Unfortunately, Kane even found the post in the 75th minute, before missing another opportunity a few moments later.

But at the very end of the match, the joker Silva found the small space to cross his right-footed shot and equalize at the very end of the match (2-2, 90th). After a final strike from Karl on the crossbar (90th + 4), Bayern Munich missed the three points and remains tied on points with Dortmund, before going to AtlĂ©tico de Madrid in C1. Another downside to note: Olise’s exit due to injury at the end of the match, which will need to be monitored as the Blues rally approaches. For its part, Dortmund remains second on goal difference and will then have to continue against Real BĂ©tis, also in the Champions League.
