For the French public, last year’s U20 World Cup was an opportunity to discover new faces, still largely unknown. The French coach, Bernard Diomède, had to show ingenuity when putting together his group, after having suffered no less than 48 refusals from clubs (the tournament was not included in the FIFA calendar of dates). Certain profiles, not necessarily scheduled to be there at the start, took this opportunity to show themselves and advance to the semi-final.
We think, for example, of Gady Beyuku, whose career we are telling you about, or of Andrea Le Borgne, transferred to Como a few months earlier after stints at Nice, OM and Air Bel. Author of three goals and an assist during the World Cup, the native of Neuilly-sur-Seine played his first (and only to date) Serie A match a few weeks later with the Italian club. Tracked by Brest in January, he finally chose to go on loan to Avellino, in Serie B, playing 11 matches. “Fabregas was completely in favor of my departure to Avellino. He told me it was the ideal place to continue my progress”he revealed.
Da Cunha and Butez took on another dimension with Fabregas
This summer, it was with Hellas Verona, a club recently relegated to Serie B, that Andrea Le Borgne set down his bags. The former Nice player was able to meet several French people there, starting with the former PSG hopeful, Antoine Bernede, but also meeting Daniele Buzzegoli, assistant to coach Baroni whom he had known in the Como youth teams. Since his arrival, the former Lazio coach has made him one of his untouchables, and Le Borgne responds well to him on the pitch. Author of 2 assists, the Frenchman is considered one of the revelations of Serie B, despite a mixed start to the collective season (Hellas Verona are 9th but are only one point behind the first jump-off for the climb).
“Le Borgne establishes himself as a safe bet unlike other more experienced players. He is THE real revelation of the season for Hellas, and one of the most promising recruits. Its value quickly rose to 4 million euros. A few months ago, he was looking for his feet between the Primavera and the professional world. Today, Verona benefits from a young player with immense potential.writes the local media Tggialloblu. His performances would also be carefully observed by Cesc Fabregas and by Como, where the midfielder is under contract until 2028. After Lucas Da Cunha and Jean Butez, who became French internationals under his orders, the Spanish coach has perhaps found the next Frenchman whom he will explode. If Hellas Verona has a purchase option of €2.5 million, Como has reserved the right to include a buyout clause of €3 million, aware of the potential of its player.
