After PSG’s victory against Strasbourg (3-1) this Saturday, Illya Zabarnyi took a position on the question of French support for Ukraine. Asked in the mixed zone about the statements of Marine Le Pen, who announced that she wanted to maintain financial aid to kyiv for six months if she becomes president before ending it, the Ukrainian defender expressed his wish to see France continue its commitment. “I hope that the new French president will continue to help Ukraine”he declared, welcoming the role played so far by Emmanuel Macron.

The PSG player, scorer against the RCSA, also insisted on the importance of this support for his country, at war since the Russian invasion of February 2022. “I know that Emmanuel Macron helps Ukraine a lot, and that is very important for us”he explained, before emphasizing his pride in Ukraine and Europe. The message got through.
