Originally from the Basque Country and married to a Breton woman, Didier Deschamps nevertheless lives under the sun of the Côte d’Azur.

Nantes, Bordeaux, Marseille, Turin, London then Valencia: Didier Deschamps moved a lot during his playing career. But it is ultimately in Cap d’Ail, on the edge of the Principality of Monaco, that the 1998 world champion has lived for many years.

The town did not hesitate to pay him a wonderful tribute by naming the local stadium in the name of the French coach in 2018, his second after that of Bayonne, his hometown.

The former midfielder owns a large villa in Cap d’Ail with a swimming pool and a “breathtaking view” according to Gala magazine where he lives most of the year with his wife Claude and where their son Dylan, recently settled in the region, pays them frequent visits.

A padel court at home

Located on a plot of 3,300 m2, the house covers more than 400m2. The vast residence also has a large terrace, a summer kitchen and a hot tub with the Mediterranean Sea on the horizon, as well as a padel court below.

This villa, however, is not the only one owned by the Deschamps couple. The French coach and his wife also spend time, particularly during the end-of-year holidays and the summer, in their house in Concarneau, where Claude Deschamps is from. The family home, in which the Deschamps have lived for 35 years, overlooks Grands Sables beach and also enjoys a breathtaking view of the Glénan islands.

Its walls were sprayed with the word “racist” in June 2016, following the Benzema affair. An attack which had particularly damaged the former midfielder.
