Borussia Dortmund formalized this Tuesday the extension of Niko Kovac until June 30, 2029. Arriving in the spring of 2025 when the club occupied 11th place in the Bundesliga, the Croatian coach quickly rectified the situation by qualifying the BVB for the Champions League. The following season, he led the Yellow and Black to second place in the championship with 73 points, one of the best records in the club’s history. His two deputies, Robert Kovac and Filip Tapalovic, also extend their commitment.
“Together we have initiated clear development and laid solid foundations for the future. We want to build on these foundations. We have a precise vision of our style of play, our collective performance and the means to achieve our objectives. Above all, we will not be satisfied with our achievements and will work every day to progress. We believe in our potential and are convinced that together, with conviction and determination, we can achieve much more”we can read in the club press release.
