The 3 p.m. multiplex of this sixth day of Serie A offered two meetings rich in twists and turns. Gennaro Gattuso’s Lazio confirmed its excellent start to the season by dominating Monza (3-1), while Bologna scored a valuable success on the Lecce pitch (1-2). The Biancocelesti, who had accumulated 13 points before this meeting, quickly took the lead thanks to Nuno Tavares, scoring in the 3rd minute, then Gustav Isaksen made the break in the 23rd minute. Monza, however, reignited the suspense as soon as they returned from the locker room with the reduction of Goglichidze’s score (46th), before Pinamonti put an end to the Lombard hopes (88th). Despite this reaction and a contested end to the match, Lazio retained their advantage to continue to keep pace with Inter at the top of the standings.

At the same time, Bologna finally found the path to victory by winning in Lecce. An important success for Raffaele Palladino’s men, who had collected only two points in their first five days while the Italian coach replaced Domenico Tedesco on the bench before the break. Riccardo Orsolini opened the scoring in the 17th minute, before Fatah tied the two teams in the 64th minute. But Enem gave the visitors the lead again in the 76th minute, allowing the Rossoblù to leave with the three points. For Lecce, who hoped to take advantage of this home meeting to move away from the red zone, the disappointment was significant. Bologna thus signed a valuable victory to launch their season, while Lazio confirmed their ambitions in the race for first places.
