The Sunday lunchtime clash in Serie A between Como of Cesc Fabregas and Roma of Gian Piero Gasperini ultimately did not produce a winner (0-0). Upon returning from the international break, the two teams, considered serious candidates for the role of anti-Inter, delivered a lively meeting with the ambition of getting closer to the summit. The Romans, who remained in a draw against the Nerazzurri (2-2), had the opportunity to come back to the level of their opponent of the day in the standings. For their part, Como looked to bounce back from their defeat at Frosinone, which ended a run of three wins and one draw. The two teams quickly put on an intense battle, with several clear chances on both sides.

Roma missed the opener in the 6th minute, when Paulo Dybala came up against Butez, before Lorenzo Pellegrini hit the post with a long-range shot (11th). Como responded, but Nico Paz and Caqueret stumbled on Gollini or missed the target. Donyell Malen also had a good chance but failed to finish, while Wesley escaped a heavier penalty after a dangerous intervention on Diao just before the break. The turning point of the match finally came in the 55th minute, when Malen was sent off directly for a sole on Kaiki. In numerical superiority, Fabregas’ men tried to make the difference, but Perrone notably missed an opportunity on the restart (56th). Despite this disputed end to the match, the two teams parted with a goalless draw which did not fully satisfy anyone. This is the first 0-0 since the start of the season in Serie A.
