He was expected, and he finally responded. Arriving at Paris Saint-Germain with great ambitions, Maghnes Akliouche had so far shown some interesting sequences without really managing to make an impression. But this Saturday evening, against Le Mans, the former Monegasque delivered his most accomplished performance in the Parisian jersey. Established by Luis Enrique, the French international (12 caps) scored his very first goal with PSG. An achievement which rewards a particularly successful meeting, during which the attacking midfielder was in all the right places. Available, inspired and always technically correct, Akliouche constantly participated in the Parisian game, notably with 78 balls touched, two key passes and 88% of successful passes in the opposing camp. Enough to leave with the man of the match trophy.

He also became the 100th player to score in official competition since 2011 and the arrival of QSI. And inevitably, the main party showed a big smile when the final whistle blew. Interviewed at the microphone of League 1+Akliouche savored this first achievement, while insisting on his desire to have more influence in his team’s play. “My goal? I’m happy to participate in the game, but to score too, it’s nice. I aim to continue like this. You have to try, participate in the game, help the team, that’s my goal. And today, it was done, so good”he explained. A performance which could well be a turning point for the 24-year-old, still in search of consistency since his arrival in the capital.

A click to gain confidence

Logically sent in front of the journalists in the mixed zone for his successful performance, Akliouche returned in more detail to this particular evening. “I’m happy to have been able to help the team and score this first goal in front of the fans, it’s special. I’ve been trying to help the team from the start, that’s all I have in mind. Today I have a goal, so I’m happy. Of course, when a rookie scores his first goal, it feels good, it’s only positive and it’s good for me.”he confided. The former Monegasque also highlighted the benefits of the international truce. “The truce has been good, it’s great to be coached by Zidane in the French team and Luis Enrique at PSG. We got a lot of new things during the break, so it’s great. »

A satisfaction also shared by its partners. Also present in the mixed zone, Lucas Digne did not hide his pleasure to see Akliouche finally rewarded for his efforts. “I’m super happy for him. When you’re a striker, you dream of scoring as quickly as possible when you arrive at a club. He deserves it a lot, he works a lot, so I’m happy and so is the team.”greeted the French side. Support that says a lot about the player’s daily investment. It now remains to be confirmed during the next deadlines, but after several weeks of adaptation, Akliouche finally seems to have found the trigger he was missing to truly launch his Parisian adventure. Next test to confirm all that, against City in the Champions League…
