For his first international window at the head of the France team, Zinédine Zidane established playing principles that Luis Enrique really liked.

Like all his friends in Ligue 1 and elsewhere, Luis Enrique had to get used to this international break, which was longer than in previous years, with a three-week break. The PSG coach obviously took the opportunity to take a look at the matches of the French team, and at the first steps of Zinédine Zidane at the head of the Blues.

At a press conference, on the eve of the Le Mans reception, Luis Enrique was first questioned about Ousmane Dembélé’s performance in the selection. “For me it was brilliant, as usual,
judged the Spanish technician. He is always open to showing up, to hitting, to playing with his teammates. I think he did very well. »

Zidane is inspired by PSG?

Luis Enrique must have seen that Dembélé played in the center with the Blues, in a role which resembles the one he occupies with PSG. And moreover, some observers have noted that Zidane had adopted certain playing principles from the double European champions.

On this comparison, Luis Enrique did not want to express himself (” I don’t know “he said). But the former La Roja coach visibly appreciated what he saw among the Blues. “When I saw the first matches of the France team, the ideas to have the victory, the ball, to press, to be a real team…”listed the Asturian, visibly convinced.

“It’s a difficulty when you are a coach because you have less time to work and connect the players, and more time to analyze. This is the most difficult thing, explains Luis Enrique. But the level of the players he called was very positive. »
