Vincent Kompany is full of praise for Michael Olise. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sportsthe Bayern Munich coach praised the qualities of the French international, whom he now considers one of the best players on the planet. Asked about the status of his attacker, the Belgian technician left no room for doubt: “ Yes, absolutely. Without a doubt. He has made enormous progress in recent years. » For Kompany, the success of the former Crystal Palace player is not based solely on his technical qualities. “ I think a player with the talent of Michael Olise will always be successful, he will always be among the best. Not only thanks to his talent, but also thanks to his mentality and his attention to detail “, he explained, before emphasizing his playing intelligence: “ He always has the gift of spotting details that others don’t see, even in training. »
The Bavarian coach also insisted on the importance of maintaining this requirement on a daily basis, even when a player reaches the top. According to him, the real challenge is to maintain motivation and the thirst for victory despite the recognition acquired through performance. “ The most important thing for a coach, with players of this caliber, is that the thirst for victory remains “, he clarified. Kompany explains that his staff pays particular attention to the players’ investment in training, their leadership and their behavior in matches. However, he refuses to take credit for the Frenchman’s outburst: “ our role is to support them, but not to transform a player into a world-class player. It’s impossible, he already has this potential in him. » A way of reminding us that Olise has, in his eyes, all the qualities necessary to continue to progress at the highest level.
