Will Dani Carvajal sign for Getafe? While his arrival in Getafe seemed compromised in recent hours, the daily A.S. ensures that the transfer of the former Real Madrid defender is not definitively abandoned, but simply put on hold until next Monday. However, a total agreement has already been found between the two parties and the Spanish full-back has even passed his medical examination. The main obstacle would concern the financial control of La Liga, which would refuse to validate the proposed salary conditions.
Still according to local media, Carvajal would have accepted a significant salary cut to join Getafe, but the authorities of the Spanish championship would consider that his remuneration does not correspond to his status or his previous income. They would therefore apply a salary valuation higher than the amount actually provided for in his contract, preventing him from being included in the workforce for the moment. Faced with this situation, the president of Getafe, Ángel Torres, was much more cautious after showing his optimism the day before.
Not yet arrived, Carvajal is already thinking about his exit door
“I told you yesterday and this morning. Nothing comes to fruition. It has nothing to do with La Liga. In principle, it fell through. In football, what is white today may be black tomorrow”he declared. Despite these comments, the club remains hopeful of finalizing the operation. However, Radio Marca brings a somewhat different version and assures that Carvajal also imposed a condition which would contribute to blocking the situation. Concretely, the former Merengue wants to be able to leave his potential team just a few months after joining it.
“He passed the medical examination. The only problem is that Carvajal, from the information we have, wants a clause allowing him, if he receives an offer from another club during the winter transfer window, to leave. As you can understand, offering a two-month contract to anyone with a minimum of common sense… Not to mention that, logically, we must also take into account the situation in La Liga”said journalist Roberto Gómez. The case should see further progress on Monday, with the return to Spain of Carvajal’s agent, currently abroad.
