Three clubs qualified for the Champions League on Tuesday evening, winning their respective play-offs: Braga, Mauro Icardi’s Galatasaray and Young Boys.
Champion of France and installed in the hat of the seeds of the draw for the group stage of the Champions League (scheduled Thursday from 6 p.m.), PSG know three other possible opponents from the dams. Braga beat Panathinaikos a second time (0-1), OM’s scorer, and finds itself in pot 3, along with AC Milan and Lazio (two teams to avoid in this pot 3) .
Two other teams qualified to slot into the 4th hat: Galatasaray and Young Boys. Istanbul’s Aslan will not be good to take… His striker Mauro Icardi scored again (from a penalty) against Molde in the return play-off (2-1), and the Turkish champion recruited Angelino, Hakim Ziyech and Wilfried Zaha during the offseason. Bern Young Boys beat Maccabi Haifa 3-0 in the return leg.
PSG will know three other potential opponents on Wednesday. The shock opposes PSV to Rangers, after a 2-2 first leg in Glasgow, while Royal Antwerp and FC Copenhagen won 1-0 their first match against AEK and Rakow. RC Lens, in hat 4, could fall on very heavy. The Sang et Or will however avoid Real Sociedad, Galatasaray and Newcastle, all in the last hat.
