FIFA Ranking: Good news for Algeria

Undefeated during this international break, Algeria has made progress in the FIFA rankings.

The Algerian selection, now led by Brahim Hemdani, concluded its autumn international break without the slightest defeat. The Fennecs first dominated Zambia (3-1), before conceding a draw in Burundi (2-2), during the CAN 2027 qualifiers.

Ibrahim Maza and his partners finally completed their journey with a friendly success against Niger (2-1), this Tuesday evening in Tizi Ouzou. Trailing, they turned the situation around thanks to goals from Bachir Belloumi and Ramy Bensebaini.

A positive result which translates positively into the FIFA rankings. Before the start of this gathering, Algeria occupied 29e place. But after the first two matches, the Greens fell one place (30e), the draw conceded against Burundi, a less well-ranked opponent, having necessarily weighed.

Algeria, third African nation

After this draw against Burundi, Algeria dominated Niger and thus gained two places in the FIFA rankings. She finds herself 28e at the end of this international break.

On the continental level, Brahim Hemdani’s troop has also progressed. In fact, it is now ranked 3e African nations, behind Egypt (25e), Senegal (18e), Morocco (7e). The Fennecs are, however, closely followed by the Ivory Coast (29e) and Nigeria (30e).
