It’s quite a page that has turned for Real Madrid and Dani Carvajal. At the club since 2002 when he was 10 years old, the right back has had a crazy career with his favorite club. Aside from an experience at Bayer Leverkusen between 2012 and 2013 which convinced Real Madrid to repatriate him, the native of Leganés has made no less than 451 appearances with Casa Blanca for 14 goals scored and 66 assists. Above all, he won six Champions Leagues, four Ligas and a total of 25 titles with the Merengues.

Spanish international (52 caps), he also won Euro 2024 with La Roja. However, the last season was complicated. Increasingly affected by injuries and having to face competition from Trent Alexander-Arnold, the 34-year-old had only played 23 games with the Madrilenians and often in a joker role. A situation which did not convince Real Madrid to offer him a new year of contract and led to his free departure. However, there was no question of the end of his career.

Getafe wants to complete the operation

“Thank you for everything you have done here and good luck for the future capi”had also reacted Kylian Mbappé at the time of his departure. Despite his status and his experience, Dani Carvajal has not found the right fit. While the championships have resumed for almost two months, the player is looking for a new challenge. However, this could evolve favorably if we are to believe ABC. The Spanish media reveals that the player is in discussions with the Getafe club in the southern suburbs of Madrid. The current eleventh in La Liga which competes in the Europa Conference League thus represents the advantage of being an attractive sporting challenge while not changing the player’s lifestyle habits.

If nothing has been finalized yet, discussions are well advanced and the player’s medical examination has been discussed. Getafe hearing about the condition of his right knee, he who had experienced a complicated 2024/2025 season after a cruciate ligament rupture. Getafe will also have to find a financial agreement, something that is not obvious since its salary cap is low. This summer, Dani Carvajal received offers from Major League Soccer, Saudi Pro League and Qatar Stars League. Financially interesting offers, but which contrasted with the player’s desire to remain at a high level of competition. Getafe represents the best compromise especially as coach José Bordalas is pushing for his arrival.
