Alfredo Relaño did not mince his words when discussing the current situation at Real Madrid. Guest of the show “The Posesión” of SPORTthe former director ofA.S. was very critical of the management of Florentino Pérez and the face displayed by the Merengues under José Mourinho. According to him, the Madrid president has lost part of his influence: “Florentino is no longer the man he was, he is losing his talent. He tried to apply an outdated and unpleasant remedy, namely Mourinho”. Relaño also believes that the arrival of the Portuguese technician has created a climate of victimization within the club and directly points to the level of play offered by the team: “They are not playing well at all. It’s normal that they lost two games. Barça is at the top of its form ».
But it was above all his analysis of Real Madrid’s relationship with its environment which provoked the strongest reaction. Relaño considers that the club has gradually locked itself into permanent opposition with different football authorities and with part of the media, going so far as to assert: “I no longer recognize Real Madrid because they are practically an anti-system troublemaker who is against everyone”. A criticism which, according to him, targets in particular UEFA, LaLiga, referees and journalists, and which illustrates his particularly severe view of the direction taken by Florentino Pérez’s Real Madrid. That’s what it says!
