Present at a press conference this Sunday, before returning to the Blues, Mark van Bommel gave a glowing look at the France team and its coach Zinédine Zidane. The former Dutch international, who followed the Blues’ latest meetings, particularly highlights their ability to make a difference thanks to their individuality. “With individual qualities, they can decide the fate of a meeting”he explained, citing the performances of Kylian Mbappé in Türkiye and Michael Olise against Belgium. The Dutch technician, however, believes that Zidane will have to manage to maintain this requirement over time with his entire group.
“Zidane must maintain his constant performance with all the squad at his disposal”he said, while regretting the result obtained against the Blues: “we should have taken a point in Brussels”. Van Bommel nevertheless considers that all the selections are capable of beating the best teams, but warns: “At some point, we have to start winning matches against these teams”. A message which testifies to the respect of the Belgians towards a French team considered as a reference.
