Benfica formalized the return of Gonçalo Guedes on Tuesday, once again in the form of a loan. After being trained at the Lisbon club, the Portuguese landed at Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. Six months later and a delicate start to his adventure in the capital, the now 26-year-old player joined Valencia before being permanently sold to the Spanish club a year later. Arrived last summer in Wolverhampton, from Valencia therefore, for a little more than 30 M€, the Lusitanian had experienced a delicate start to the season in England, scoring only one small goal in 13 Premier League games.

The management of Wolves then decided to loan Gonçalo Guedes to revive him. The Portuguese had therefore made his big return to Benfica last January for the entire end of the season. Back in England at the start of the summer transfer window, the former PSG player did not stay long in Wolverhampton since his training club formalized a new loan on Tuesday. “Benfica has strengthened its professional football team with the arrival of Gonçalo Guedes, on loan valid until the end of the 2023/24 season, signed with English club Wolverhampton”can we read in the press release from the Lisbon club.
