The Court of Cassation confirmed this Wednesday the referral for trial of Achraf Hakimi before the Hauts-de-Seine departmental criminal court. The Paris Saint-Germain defender, accused of rape by a young woman for acts dating back to 2023, had filed an appeal after the decision taken in June to refer him to this court. The highest court in the French judiciary ultimately rejected his appeal, paving the way for a trial to be held.
“ The Court of Cassation rejected Achraf Hakimi’s appeal, ruling that no serious means were likely to allow his admission », declared Bertrand Périer, lawyer for the plaintiff before the Court of Cassation, in a press release relayed by AFP. This decision does not constitute a judgment on the player’s guilt: this will have to be examined during his trial before the departmental criminal court.
