Cesc Fàbregas has established himself as one of the most prominent coaches in European football after brilliantly supporting the progress of Como, now in the Champions League. Under contract until 2028, the former Spanish midfielder would not have completely closed the door to a departure before this deadline. According to Sky SportFàbregas would have negotiated an exit clause at a particularly low amount, exclusively activatable for three clubs: FC Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea. A provision which would allow him to seize an opportunity in one of his former clubs without necessarily waiting for the end of his contract.
However, Fàbregas would have no intention of leaving Como in the immediate future. Several big Italian teams were reportedly interested in him this summer, but he declined these approaches. Barça, however, occupies a special place in his long-term plans, while Hansi Flick is still under contract until 2028. Arsenal, where Fàbregas has proven himself at the highest level, also represents a favored destination. A clause which therefore says a lot about the three projects that the Spanish technician considers particularly important for the rest of his career.
