Luca Zidane had an evening unlike that of his father. While Zinédine Zidane celebrated a second consecutive victory on the bench of the France team, the Algerian goalkeeper experienced a much more complicated match with Leganés. Suspended with the Fennecs, he started against Castellon for the 7th day of the Spanish second division.
At home, Leganés finally lost 2-0. A meeting during which Luca Zidane first allowed his team to stay in the match thanks to several important interventions.
Marca notably highlighted two “splendid” parades by the goalkeeper against Adam Jakobsen then Ousmane Camara.
But a few minutes later, Zinédine Zidane’s son found himself at the heart of a much less flattering action. In the 24th minute, a long ball behind him pushed him wide of his line, about 30 yards from his goal. While trying to play quickly with one touch, the goalkeeper completely missed his restart.
Luca Zidane trapped
The ball arrived directly at the feet of Israel Suero. The Spanish striker did not miss the opportunity and, after turning, perfectly adjusted Luca Zidane with a left-footed lob to open the scoring. An error which ultimately weighed heavily in a meeting concluded with a defeat for Leganés.
Luca Zidane now has six goals conceded in six appearances this season, with three games without conceding a goal. His team is currently in tenth place in the Spanish second division. Meanwhile, Zinédine Zidane continues his perfect debut with the Blues. After two matches, the new coach already has two victories.
