The controversy continues to be talked about in Spain. Before Elche-Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr and Ibrahima Konaté had chosen not to fully display the message “Todos somos caballas”written on the t-shirts worn in support of the inhabitants of Ceuta. The three players wore their jerseys raised, thus hiding the message, before Mbappé and Vinicius finally took off their t-shirts and Konaté kept them in his hands. An attitude which quickly aroused reactions, since the operation had been validated within the framework of LaLiga and accepted by Real Madrid.
Asked about this sequence, Javier Tebas did not hide his disagreement with the behavior of the three players. “We have already seen that three players decided not to wear the t-shirt because wearing it halfway is like not wearing it. That seems wrong to me. These are institutional acts, of the club. These are not personal acts where you have to express your personal opinion, we don’t even allow them. But this was none of that: it was not an act of any kind, nor a subject of political demand. Even less from Real Madrid. »
