Lazio is not done with Mauro Icardi. According to our information, a new meeting is soon planned around the file of the Argentine striker, while the Biancocelesti had already opened discussions with his entourage during the summer transfer window for a contract until 2028. The file had experienced several twists and turns in recent weeks, with a first contact initiated by Angelo Fabiani then a reflection by the Roman club on the possibility of recruiting the former Inter scorer, now free. Gennaro Gattuso had clearly identified the need for a final offensive reinforcement and Icardi was one of the profiles studied to bring more weight and efficiency in the area. Contacts eventually slowed, but the trail never completely disappeared.
The situation could therefore quickly get back on track. Despite the financial constraints which have long complicated its transfer window, Lazio has had a remarkable start to the season under the orders of Gattuso with a group which quickly responded on the pitch. The Italian technician would now like to have one last offensive solution, whether now or during the next winter transfer window, and Mauro Icardi remains a particularly popular option. For his part, the Argentinian would like to join Lazio and would be in favor of arriving in Rome. According to our information, a new attack is therefore expected soon from the club and the player, with this new meeting which could make it possible to concretely relaunch a file already very lively this summer.
