A surprising separation was revealed this Tuesday. Arriving this summer on the bench of the Racing Club de Lens, Dino Toppmöller is no longer the coach of the Sang et Or. It remained to be seen why the two parties chose to take different paths after only four days of the championship. The explanation came from Germany.
According to Bild, it was the tactician himself who chose to turn his back on the northern club. The German media reported that the reason for this radical decision was directly linked to the fate of Toppmöller’s deputy, Nelson Morgado. The latter’s dismissal would have been announced this Monday to the number one coach. Nelson Morgado
“disturbed certain members of the club, in particular the French collaborators of the technical staff from whom he asked for more commitment and passion”.
Enough to cause a schism which cost the deputy his job. Learning of this, Dino Toppmöller would have taken the decision very badly, considering that the Lens management had been guilty of an act of interference in the area that he considered to be reserved for him.

The two parties then discussed the problem to which the only solution would have been this famous divorce. The departure of the coach would therefore have nothing to do with the results obtained with the Sang et Or since his arrival. The results are rather encouraging. Because despite the current series of two defeats and a draw in Ligue 1, Lens still won the Champions Trophy against PSG (1-0) and also won its first Champions League match on the field of Slavia Prague (2-3).
The Lensois leaders will now have to find a replacement for Dino Toppmöller. According to L’Equipe, Yannick Cahuzac should be named, at least provisionally, and who will be on the bench Friday evening during the trip to Monaco.
