The controversy between Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé takes on a new dimension. After PSG’s victory in Brest (0-1), the Parisian striker took advantage of his appearance at the Ligue 1+ microphone to respond to the recent statements of his teammate in the French team. “I was never the chosen one, I worked and I was rewarded in a fantastic year with Paris Saint-Germain”had notably launched Dembélé, in reference to the words of Mbappé, who had explained having “always been seen as the chosen one”. An outing which would ultimately have had nothing improvised.
According to RMC SportPSG and Ousmane Dembélé had in fact prepared this speech even before the meeting. The response would have been organized and speaking at the broadcaster’s microphone was established in advance, it is explained. “He comes to the microphone, but you have to ask him a question about the Ballon d’Or, otherwise he doesn’t come”would have explained PSG, to send a sort of organized response to Mbappé’s statements. The battle for the 2026 Ballon d’Or is now clearly underway between the two Frenchmen, with just over a month to go before the verdict.

For his part, Kylian Mbappé would have been surprised by his friend’s public response, but would have no intention of responding to him through the media. The Real Madrid striker would now favor a discussion directly with Dembélé in order to put things straight during the next gathering of the France team, scheduled for the end of the month. An explanation which could prove necessary as tensions between the two players would also begin to divide the Blues locker room, where two camps would have formed. Zinédine Zidane could therefore quickly have to manage his first hot file…
