Like every year, Christian Lopez and his wife Sylvana organized a golf tournament, near Saint-Étienne on Saturday and Craintilleux on Sunday, for the benefit of the League Against Cancer. For the occasion, 120 participants – former high-level athletes, local business leaders and friends – responded to the call, including Antoine Kombouaré and Laurent Blanc.
Currently without a club, the two coaches have been associated, also in the company of part of the Revelli family. “I teamed up with Laurent Blanc and some friends of ours,”
indicated Kombouaré to the
Progressand add: “It’s an opportunity to talk about our families, our children and our health. We catch up on friends and what remains of our careers and our memories together. »
“Whether we play well or not well, that’s the least of my worries. We come to meet friends we haven’t seen for a long time. We also pay tribute to the former Greens. I want to say thank you to them, because I was inspired by their career. It’s a great pleasure to be with them again. I watched them on television in New Caledonia. I also have a thought for Jacques Zimako (former Stéphanois from 1977 to 1981, died in 2021, editor’s note)”declared the former coach of Paris FC, who refers to the epic of the Greens in the Champions League and this final lost in Glasgow in 1976.
Kombouaré: “It’s important to see Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1”
Antoine Kombouaré then said a word about the current Saint-Etienne team, which he would very much like to see rise to the elite of French football. “It’s beautiful what they’re doing this year, he whispered. It’s important to see Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1. It’s a legendary club with a wonderful audience. He deserves to return to the elite, like Nantes, my favorite club. »
Finally, “Casque d’Or” spoke about his future, he left Paris FC this summer. “I took a year off to take care of my health, he confided. I had a knee prosthesis fitted. We’ll see what happens next year. » So to be continued.
