At 24, João Pedro thus confirms his importance in the Chelsea attack and offers himself the first individual reward of the season in England.
A distinction which takes on a particular flavor a few months after his big disappointment with the Brazilian selection. João Pedro had been removed by Carlo Ancelotti from the list for the World Cup in order to allow the return of Neymar, without his absence being linked to a physical problem. Brazil then left the competition in the round of 16, eliminated by Norway. Back at the club, the former Brighton striker responded in the best way on the pitch and launched his season with four decisive contributions in three days.
