Aligned from the start against Bratislava, Maghnes Akliouche had little influence on the debates despite an assist, attracting some criticism.

He is one of those who plays the most, on the Parisian side, at the start of the season. After the first six matches played by PSG since the resumption, Maghles Akliouche already has five starts. The former Monegasque, however, hardly took the opportunity to stand out.

Established in the left lane, the native of Seine-Saint-Denis suffered from the comparison with his two friends in the Parisian attack. While Ferran Torres scored twice and Ousmane Dembélé compiled two goals and two assists, Maghnes Akliouche had to be content with an assist after a nice breakthrough on the right flank.

The French international nevertheless showed great commitment, showing himself to be very involved in defensive tasks, whether recovering in midfield or in his withdrawals, in his lane. Not enough to fully convince Emmanuel Petit.

Maghnes Akliouche repositioned in midfield?

“A lot of good intentions, he’s not really rewarded in the game, thus pointed the finger at the former world champion. It is very messy with a lot of technical waste. I noticed that his movements were poorly coordinated with some of his partners. He did some good things in his travels but sometimes he went to places where there was already someone. We know that PSG’s grid on a tactical level is very important for the fluidity of the game.”

And according to the former Gunner, Maghnes Akliouche would surely be more comfortable in the midfield rather than on one side.
“I am still convinced that his future is in midfield, he indicated. He has more qualities in the felling, in the volume of the race, in the technique. More there than on one side where you have to be sharp. »
