Double winner of the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain was trying to write a little more of its history in the most prestigious club competition. The Ile-de-France club launched its European campaign this Wednesday at the Parc des Princes with the reception of the modest Slovan Bratislava. Against one of the least experienced teams in the competition, Luis Enrique was spinning a bit. Thus, Marquinhos, Joao Neves, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were preserved while Ilya Zabarnyi, Dro Fernandez, Ferran Torres and Maghnés Akliouche started the match. For Slovan Bratislava, Yaya Touré surrounded his scorer Andraž Šporar with Tigran Barseghyan and Suleiman Camara.
The match started strong under the leadership of the Parisians. Achraf Hakimi slipped a nice ball towards the penalty spot for Ousmane DembĂ©lĂ© who missed. In the good shots, the Ballon d’Or 2025 thought he saw double on this deep service from Ferran Torres. His dive ball was, however, caught by Dominik Takáč (19th). It was only a postponement since on a Slovak error, MaghnĂ©s Akliouche found Dro Fernandez whose blocked shot returned to Ousmane DembĂ©lĂ© who would finish with a header (2-0, 23rd).
Ferran Torres saw triple
Sheltered, the Parisians were not going to give up and multiplied initiatives like this free kick from Nuno Mendes captured by Dominik Takáč (29th) or the curling shot from Ferran Torres which passed to the right of the frame (30th). The Spaniard would finally score just behind by cutting a nice cross from Ousmane Dembélé (3-0, 31st). Scorer, passer, Ousmane Dembélé narrowly missed the hat-trick on a delivery from Ferran Torres, but his shot hit the bottom of the crossbar before dying on the Slovan Bratislava line (34th). A solid first act from the Parisians who led 3-0 at the break. When we returned from the locker room, things started strong again. On the right side, Maghnés Akliouche moved and cleared three players before transmitting full axis in front of the area to Ferran Torres. The Spaniard would finish on the right of the goal (4-0, 47th). Served at the entrance to the area by Nuno Mendes just behind, Fabian Ruiz provoked and struck to the left of the frame before being flagged offside (51st).
Then Nuno Mendes scored the fifth Parisian goal following a nice reversal of play from Maghnés Aliouche on the right and a one-two with Ousmane Dembélé. However, the goal was refused for offside (55th). Then on a corner on the right, Ousmane Dembélé crossed at the near post. From the shin, Ferran Torres took over and scored to the right of the goal (5-0, 57th). Frustrated Suleiman Camara unloaded on the left side. Entering the area by depositing Ilya Zabarnyi, the Gambian then shot Matvey Safonov to equalize (5-1, 59th). Faced with this heavy score, Luis Enrique brought out Nuno Mendes, Willian Pacho, Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi. Senny Mayulu, Mika Godts, Lucas Hernandez and Lucas Digne appeared. The rest of the match was much more anecdotal, at least until this poorly cleared ball in the Slovak area that Fabian Ruiz transformed with a rebound (6-1, 88th). Game, set and match, with this 6-1 success, Paris Saint-Germain takes the lead in the league phase of the Champions League just ahead of FC Barcelona.
