Ligue 1, Rennes-PSG: the return match already at the heart of discord

Double reigning European champion, Paris Saint-Germain launches its Champions League season on Wednesday evening, at home, against Slovan Bratislava. A more than affordable meeting for Luis Enrique’s men which will be refereed by the Ukrainian Mykola Balakin (37 years old).

This referee does not have much experience in the Champions League since he has only managed four C1 matches between 2023 and 2025. He has never refereed PSG, but he has already crossed paths with a French club in the European Cup. It was October 5, 2023, during the Europa League match between Olympique de Marseille and Brighton.
